Pride on the Green is the brainchild and passion project of W. Roy Salon owner, Kerry Roy. After becoming sole owner of the salon in 2024, Kerry decided to dedicate himself and his business back to the same communities that have supported him since the salon’s founding in 2019. With the help of fellow business owners, non-profits, and various organizations in the Avondale Estates, Decatur, and Atlanta areas, the first Pride on the Green festival was born on October 4, 2025.

The celebration of love and diversity included local food vendors, a Bizarre Bazaar artists’ market, a Pool Turtle Game Zone with cornhole, giant inflatable darts, badminton and more. Of course, the festival wouldn’t have been complete without a W. Roy Salon Glam Zone, featuring glittering hair tinsel, fabulous temporary tattoos, sparkly body glitter, and so much more. Family friendly activities and events at the festival included a SecondLife sponsored pet costume contest, line dancing lessons on the lawn, a free kids’ music class from Mister John’s Music, and a DJ all throughout the day to keep the dance party going. After the festival, people hopped over to Nite Owl Kitchen and The Pool Turtle for afterparties.

We want to thank everyone who came out to the inaugural festival, and who have supported us in our winding journey. Pride on the Green is just one of many ways we hope to give back. Find us next year at Pride on the Green 2026.
